FUTURE STUDENTS » Applying for Admissions
Fletcher Technical Community College’s admissions department strives to help students reach their educational goals. If we can help you in any way, please feel free to contact us. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Office hours may change during registration and holidays.
Fletcher has an open-admissions policy as established by the Louisiana Legislature and approved by the Board of Regents. Anyone with a high school diploma from a state approved high school or a GED (General Education Development) is eligible for admission. Those individuals without a high school diploma or its equivalent are also eligible for certain certificate or diploma programs.
All eligible persons are assured equal opportunity for admission without regard to ethnicity, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran’s status. Some programs may require additional admission standards in order to achieve program or industry accreditation standards.
Fletcher serves persons on an equal priority basis including, but not limited to, adults, veterans, high school students, persons who have not completed high school, and minority ethnic groups. A student may attend Fletcher at age 16 for all programs except Practical Nursing, Phlebotomy, EMT, and GED under one of the following circumstances:
- Student attends at night.
- Student attends during a summer session.
- Student attends while enrolled in his/her senior year of high school.
- Student has a waiver stating he/she was allowed to withdraw from high school at age 16 instead of 17.
- Student has already obtained a GED.
