Integrated Production Technologies

Fletcher Technical Community College offers a two year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Integrated Production Technologies (IPTN).  

The IPTN program provides specialized academic and technical skills to prepare students for a career as a production technician in the oil and gas production industry. Students will learn to operate and monitor exploration operations, production facilities, and pipeline systems.

Technicians are specialist in instrumentation, automation, electricity, mechancial equipment, process systems, safety and measurements. Technicians need academic and technical skills in computer programs, mathematics, physical science, fluid mechanics, process diagrams, and process systems along with communication, teamwork and employability skills.

SALARY AND CAREER OUTLOOK
Graduates of the IPTN program work at oil and gas production worksites, offices, control rooms and laboratories. Average starting salary, according to Fletcher's local advisory board, is $60,000 with the opportunity to increase earnings with overtime. The industry need for trained individuals is ever increasing as 50% of the labor force in the industry will be eligible for retirement within 10 years.
